BRAZIL LED THE WAY

Short Sided Soccer and Pre K Kickers held their first ever 3V3 World Cup Soccer Tournament at ADI in Cedar Knolls this past Saturday.  Pre K Kickers "Brazil" was able to come away as Champions with an undefeated record of 3-0-1 in a tournament that was loaded with talent.  This was a great way to bring our alumni together to play a real game, and to introduce others to our vision.

Please visit www.sssoccernj.com for future U6-U11 tournaments.

Italian Soccer Learning and Field Trip

July 16, 2011

The Pre K Kickers trip to Sicily was full of perfect weather, delicious food, and lots of soccer! Coach Nessi's family has a connection to one of the best youth soccer trainers in Italy.  Rocco, from Triestina, hosted a highly informative business discussion about his training experiences.  Many suggestions and valuable advice were communicated, on both ends, and practices were exchanged.

Later that week, Coach Ken visited the Unione Sportiva Città di Palermo, (Palermo soccer stadium), and was given a tour and a bit of history about the establishment.

Fuerza Palermo!

June 17, 2011

Coach Ken was invited to learn and experience pure, Italian soccer, in the city of Capaci, located near Palermo, Sicily.  Two games were held and guided by one of Coach Nessi's family's friends.  Skills and techniques were learned through these games, and Coach Ken was able to express some valuable knowledge, as well.

PINKALICIOUS!

Thanks to the Haffners, Pre K Kickers was able to host another super-fun soccer birthday hour!  Avery, the birthday girl, was given the name of "Pinkerbelle" for the day, which comes from the main character in her favorite book, "Pinkalicious," which happened to be the theme of her party.  There was a great group of guests who helped make the party as fun as it was.  Pre K Kickers can't wait to do it again!

Strike it Up!

Wednesday, February 16th

The newest and “furriest” addition to the Pre K Kickers family, Striker, met some of the children today at indoor soccer. Striker, a Husky-Chow canine snuggle-bunny, was very excited to socialize with the children. Thanks to Ms. Schuurman’s expertise in dog training, every child felt comfortable and safe. We hope to have Striker serve as our Pre K Kickers mascot. Do they make yellow T-shirts that small?

Post-Its Prove to Pacify

My co-worker brought her almost-2-year-old son into work today, because he left daycare sick.  Ill-tempered, he would not let his mother get any work done, which, most of it requires phone calls.  Screaming and crying for attention, he resorted to drawing all over the office walls with crayons.  THAT got mommy to look his way.

She asked us (my partner and I) to watch him for a few minutes.  He didn't want to draw, eat candy, play a game.  All he wanted was his mother.  Finally, he grew a liking to me because his cousin shares my name- he was able to understand the relationship.  I don't know if it's that or my baby voice that he liked, but he ran my way after a short while.  I let him play with some post-its (because I did not have a soccer ball in the office), and it turns out- post-its make a great game for kids.  He kept busy for about a half an hour with just one pad of post-its, posting all over my cubicle.  He learned the color green in the midst of it all.

By the end of his visit, he learned a new color, a new game, and made a new friend.

Santa Comes to Town!

The Pre K Kickers were thrilled to see Santa visit them at ADI on Wednesday, December 22nd.  As if they already didn't have enough fun with coach's exhilarating games, Santa threw in some extra flair by bringing gifts and Christmas cheer.
