Post-Its Prove to Pacify

My co-worker brought her almost-2-year-old son into work today, because he left daycare sick.  Ill-tempered, he would not let his mother get any work done, which, most of it requires phone calls.  Screaming and crying for attention, he resorted to drawing all over the office walls with crayons.  THAT got mommy to look his way.

She asked us (my partner and I) to watch him for a few minutes.  He didn't want to draw, eat candy, play a game.  All he wanted was his mother.  Finally, he grew a liking to me because his cousin shares my name- he was able to understand the relationship.  I don't know if it's that or my baby voice that he liked, but he ran my way after a short while.  I let him play with some post-its (because I did not have a soccer ball in the office), and it turns out- post-its make a great game for kids.  He kept busy for about a half an hour with just one pad of post-its, posting all over my cubicle.  He learned the color green in the midst of it all.

By the end of his visit, he learned a new color, a new game, and made a new friend.

Santa Comes to Town!

The Pre K Kickers were thrilled to see Santa visit them at ADI on Wednesday, December 22nd.  As if they already didn't have enough fun with coach's exhilarating games, Santa threw in some extra flair by bringing gifts and Christmas cheer.
