PINKALICIOUS!

Thanks to the Haffners, Pre K Kickers was able to host another super-fun soccer birthday hour!  Avery, the birthday girl, was given the name of "Pinkerbelle" for the day, which comes from the main character in her favorite book, "Pinkalicious," which happened to be the theme of her party.  There was a great group of guests who helped make the party as fun as it was.  Pre K Kickers can't wait to do it again!

Strike it Up!

Wednesday, February 16th

The newest and “furriest” addition to the Pre K Kickers family, Striker, met some of the children today at indoor soccer. Striker, a Husky-Chow canine snuggle-bunny, was very excited to socialize with the children. Thanks to Ms. Schuurman’s expertise in dog training, every child felt comfortable and safe. We hope to have Striker serve as our Pre K Kickers mascot. Do they make yellow T-shirts that small?

Pre K Kickers is bringing super-fun soccer back to the fields this Spring!  We plan on preparing our returning students for travel soccer, and we will welcome our new students with the high-energy, positive attitude, and strong encouragement we are known for.

Since Winter is coming to an end, and the Spring season does not begin until April, we are offering a 4-week Pre-Season Camp that will be held every Saturday during the month of March at ADI's indoor facility in Cedar Knolls.  Sign up soon before your child misses out on a GREAT prep camp!

Post-Its Prove to Pacify

My co-worker brought her almost-2-year-old son into work today, because he left daycare sick.  Ill-tempered, he would not let his mother get any work done, which, most of it requires phone calls.  Screaming and crying for attention, he resorted to drawing all over the office walls with crayons.  THAT got mommy to look his way.

She asked us (my partner and I) to watch him for a few minutes.  He didn't want to draw, eat candy, play a game.  All he wanted was his mother.  Finally, he grew a liking to me because his cousin shares my name- he was able to understand the relationship.  I don't know if it's that or my baby voice that he liked, but he ran my way after a short while.  I let him play with some post-its (because I did not have a soccer ball in the office), and it turns out- post-its make a great game for kids.  He kept busy for about a half an hour with just one pad of post-its, posting all over my cubicle.  He learned the color green in the midst of it all.

By the end of his visit, he learned a new color, a new game, and made a new friend.

Santa Comes to Town!

The Pre K Kickers were thrilled to see Santa visit them at ADI on Wednesday, December 22nd.  As if they already didn't have enough fun with coach's exhilarating games, Santa threw in some extra flair by bringing gifts and Christmas cheer.

FIRST DAY OF INDOOR SOCCER

Although the weather was frigid today, the Pre K Kickers were able to stay toasty with all of Coach Ken's games.  We had some returning Kickers, Colin and Alex, who proved that working hard pays off.  Thomas and Dylan were on their best behavior, making it easier for Coach Ken to provide a fun and educational session.  Little Lucas, or should I say, Cool Hand Luke, was timid at first, but punished the goal with his powerful kicks.

Mackenzie, the only girl there today, represented female athletes everywhere very well.  With great confidence and athleticism, she surely will not fall behind the boys.  Connor and Michael threw perfect rocketships while Jordan and Jake showed great skill toward the end of class.

It was a great day, and we look forward to having Asher back for the rest of the season.

What to Work On for Next Week:  "No hands."
